Dear Causes.com Community,

We’re excited to announce that Causes has acquired Votizen, a fellow San Francisco-based tech startup that helps people unlock the power of their social networks for political influence. We’re thrilled to bring together two teams that share a common vision for transforming civic engagement through technology.

In the 2012 election cycle, Votizen connected millions of voters and helped them take meaningful action in thousands of races across the country. The ability to link a person’s online identity to off-line voter registration records—a technology Votizen pioneered—will instantly give greater weight to the millions of advocacy actions taken on Causes.com each month. For example, last month, more than three million people took action in response to the tragic events in Newtown, CT. With Votizen’s voter file integration, those three million actions will carry far more weight in Washington, DC and statehouses around the country as elected officials hear directly from voters in their districts.

Moreover, Votizen’s talented team of innovators and product leaders is joining Causes, which will greatly accelerate our ability to bring you new and more powerful tools. In the coming year, we will continue to focus on being the best possible place for you to champion your causes, build community with others, and take action collectively for real-world impact. We couldn’t be more excited to join forces with the Votizen team and accelerate this work together.

Thank you for supporting our vision, organizing with our tools, and being part of our community.

Sincerely,
Matt Mahan
CEO of Causes.com

Wonderful addition! Once integrated, it will help Causes have more impact offline where it really matters, the voting both.

Congrats Matt and Congrats to Causes. I’m sure there will be more good news to come in 2013 for Causes and it’s mission. God Bless

God bless ? Why ? What God has to do with it ? You remind me of when, during the last war, the germans who prayed for victory when the french were doing the same.

Why do I receive emails from friends that comment on causes, yet when I go to the cause, it ends on dec 23rd, and I am unable to see what they said, If you don’t want me on your causes then tell me so and I will delete any emails from causes

    • Ronald Reiman

I too, have a problem. They do not allow me to see what is written and they do not allow me to make a comment, so this is how they control the flow if information and allow only those who agree with them to comment. Apparently this is democracy American style. A bit like Henry Ford and his cars, you can have any colour that you like so long as it is black.

  • Ronald Reiman

Gladly You puff yourself up with pride with all the good that you do yet you disallow others from posting a comment against the blood thirsty idiots who blather all sorts of unreasonable nonsense. Either you are for the truth or you are trying to create a mob truth, so while you are busy patting yourselves on the back have a care that you don’t dislocate your shoulders, I find myself agreeing with Jackie Cox who is also unable to make a posting so who is your censor?

  • Dominique Cole

You are doing a fantastic job but I strongly resent the daily report of ” who has replied to my invite. I refuse to spy upon my friends. If you keep that practice I’ll stop suporting your movement. Thank you

  • Rach

Dear causes, trying to find a way to contact you= virtually impossible. Please stop the way that when you invite friends to sign causes it shows up for each individual invite on your news feed – so invite 50 and everyone sees a huge list and gets, rightly, annoyed with it. This will stop me from signing any more in the future, which is a shame. Also, get yourself a comments/complaints manager and a place to receive them!

One of the use of Causes is like a petition so the number of supporters is very important. with the design of the pages it took me a long time to find this number.
PS The only place I found to post this remark is here on un connectet post

How do i stop you faggots from spamming me?
Unsubscribed months ago only to now be getting spammed daily (Youre breaking the law where i come from)
And ive noticed that going from the email in my inbox to your site, there is NO unsubscribe button and there is a buttload of different individual options for stopping individual emails. BUT NOT A SINGLE ONE TO TELL YOU GUYS TO FUCK OFF ENTIRELY.
