Site Update: Reposting on Causes Brings Communities Together

Posted Oct 22, 2012 by

Reposting is a new tool that will make it easier to lend your support to causes.

Bridging communities across Causes.com is one of the best experiences you can have on our site. This week we’re unveiling a new feature that will help you make those connections possible: Reposting! Rohan Dang, product manager at Causes, gives us the scoop. “Reposting on Causes will enable organizers to find relevant actions across the site and put the support of their cause communities behind those actions and take them to success.”

Currently you are able to create a cause and post your own actions — petitions, pledges, and fundraisers — for members of your cause community. Reposting on Causes will allow you to take another cause leader’s action, e.g. a petition you have signed, and repost it to your community as well. The result is a dynamic merging of communities rallying together to boost an action towards success.

How Does It Work?

1. Look for the Repost icon on any action.

Tip: Use the reposting tool to share relevant content to your cause communities. Do you lead a cause focused on education? Repost a petition about education to your users.

2. Click the icon and decide where you’d like to repost the action.

Tip: Cause leaders who lead more than one community can choose where to repost.

3. Write a message about the action to your community in the body portion of the reposting pop-up.

Tip: Don’t forget to email your cause community with the reposted action.

4. Click the green Repost button and publish.

Tip: Check out your cause to see the reposted action.

We would love to hear your thoughts on the product, so leave us a comment below. If you have more questions, visit our support page for answers.

Bullying is such a terrible thing. I person very close to me was bullied a lot in grade and high school, I am so thankful that it finally stopped and this kid became a respected member of his class. He happens to have an IQ close to 140 or so, and is doing computers successfully now!! He is my son!!

How have you used Causes to create an impact in your community?
