Email Cause Members by Group

Posted Aug 24, 2012 by

Communicating with your cause members is now easier and more effective than ever before. The new “Email Members” tool allows you to email cause members by group.

How does it work?

  • Click on the Email Members tab on the top of your petition.
  • Select from All Members, Members who took action, and Members who didn’t take action.
  • Write your subject line.
  • Craft your message.
  • Preview the email.
  • Send it off!

Having the ability to update specific groups of members from your cause is important because you can be both flexible and creative about the content you write to each group. Want to update members who signed the petition you created on your page? Send them a specific thank you email and tell them what they will be updated on next. Looking to communicate with your cause members who haven’t taken your latest action? Remind them about your new action and goals. A targeted email will result in more engagement from your members. Below is an example of the prompt you’ll see when clicking the “Email Members” button.

One email to your total membership is allowed per day and you will be able to track how many people opened your email, clicked on the links and took action.

Email Preview

Not sure if you’re ready to send once you’ve written your email? You can save and preview every email before sending to ensure you have the right message and tone for the specific group you’re emailing. Before this feature, users had to write and proofread their emails without really knowing what the email format would be like. You can see exactly what your members will receive before you send the final copy.

What are you doing to stop false campaigns featuring sick children or injured animals? I’ve been receiving a lot of these on facebook lately and I can’t find a place to notify you of them on your site. It seems that these aside from being distressing to individuals, are damaging to the activist community and it’s therefore in the interests of a site like causes.com to address these false or obsolete campaigns.

How have you used Causes to create an impact in your community?
