New Feature Allows for Easy Action Updates
Posted Apr 03, 2012 by Becca Hare
Causes.com is hard at work building the best place to run grassroots campaigns online. Today we’re unveiling our newest feature: Action Updates. To see this feature in action, check out this pledge and update from the World Wildlife Fund.

What are updates?
They’re a quick and informative way to keep action-takers — people participating in actions like polls, pledges, petitions, viewing of photos and videos, and so forth — updated on the progress of your campaign. Send updates to your supporters to keep them posted on your progress, celebrate your victories, and encourage them to spread the word about your campaign.
Why are Updates awesome?
We think that Updates are a really important part of a campaign (and therefore awesome) for a few reasons:
- Targeting! In our Updates pilot, we found click rates on Update emails to be 300% higher than other emails from the cause.
- Communication! With one post, you can notify your action-takers that they just made a difference and you reached your goal.
- Inspiration! Updates are another great way to keep your community fired up about your campaign.
How I can create an Update?

Every action page will include a “Post An Update” button at the top right. Click the button, write your update copy, select whether you’d like to send the update to your action-takers or just post it to the action, and post your update!
