Causes Launches A New Feature: Welcome and Thank You Videos!

At Causes we are constantly thinking of new and innovative ways to enhance the user experience and make supporters feel special for being apart of your community. What better way to connect with supporters than through video?

Causes is one of the most viral platforms on the internet because each time a user joins a cause they are asked to take a pledge to invite their friends. In fact, about 80% of Causes traffic comes through our “join flow.” Now, instead of having just a simple welcome note for new cause members, you can also include a welcome video! Check out Camfed’s amazing “Welcome Video” and you’ll understand how powerful it is to add a video to your cause.

To add a welcome video to your cause, click on the “admin center” tab on the cause page.  Next click on the Welcome Note and insert your YouTube link. Click “Preview” and then “Add”. And that’s it! (Best next step:  Do a membership drive to show of your new video!)

Immediately after a supporter donates to your nonprofit is also a great opportunity to connect. Donating online is fast, easy, and accessible, but often impersonal. With Causes’ new Thank You video feature you can now “personally” thank each individual donor. Watch this adorable video from the Mission Street Learning Center to get inspired for your Thank You Video:

You must be a nonprofit partner with Causes to add a Thank You Video. But don’t worry, applying to be a partner is free and easy. Simply go to nonprofits.causes.com and fill out your organization’s information.

Once you’ve logged in to your partner center, click on the “fundraising tab.” Then select the project to which you would like to add a Thank You video.

Next, click “edit project” and scroll down to the “automated thank you note.” Simply copy and paste the URL of your YouTube video here. That’s it!  Happy videoing!
