Smash Mouth takes on a dare for St. Jude’s

The rock band Smash Mouth, is bringing something new to Causes…eggs.

Everyday at Causes we come across something really exciting, from thriving communities to people putting a new twist on fundraising. That’s why we build Causes.com, to give everyone the tools to have an impact, and have fun doing it. Yesterday we found the cause, Smash Mouth, Eat the Eggs! Smash Mouth is fundraising for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and we have to say, this cause is awesome! In just a couple days they have raised almost $7500 for St. Jude’s, the comprehensive cancer center where no child is denied treatment because of a family’s inability to pay. If the cause reaches $10k, Smash Mouth singer Steve Harwell will attempt to eat 24 eggs and broadcast the event. That’s right, a good-old-fashioned-food-challenge for charity…we love it.

At this rate, we think Smash Mouth can raise $20k — shouldn’t that mean more eggs? Check out the cause and leave suggestions for upping the ante.

    @Pankaj…A charity is giving something to someone who needs it, in this case it will be money to help pay for the medical costs for a child who is gravely ill. Simple as that. St. Judes is the forerunner in treating children with cancer who’s parents cannot afford to pay. Cancer treatment is extremely expensive. Not everyone has health insurance.

    if you ask then listen up,in Jesus Christ name i ask for Tucson AZ who the children have been devastated by fire ,air , water are earth here with corrupt, council ,governor , attorney general , & racist senator ( brewer , tom Horne, and racist Pearson like his fathers before him and brought this state to its knees save America love god red America of the anti Christ that be anti America from the wolf aah woe!!!! .

    Props & huge shout out to Smash Mouth for doing this. I think it is amazing when I see people doing all that they can to help those in need. St. Jude’s is an amazing org. I wish there were more org.’s around that did things like this. I can remember when I was 1st diagnosed. I didn’t have any insurance, I had to fight to get the state to come off of the insurance they wrongfully took away from me many yrs. prior; but thanks to a wonderful woman named Gretchen, who fought for me I was able to get to the proper care that I so needed. So here is to all those who fight for those in need! <3

    i appreciate the acknowledgement but i ask not for myself but for me accomplish in Christ name but because i don’t be leave in promoting for $$$ are systems are all corrupt 25cents of every $ donations is all these dispersant apply the rest goes to administration.i witness all in gods eye i work for the government that people place to impose there there will for profit i recon the truth,every day worked for special interest 24 yrs.of lies to the USA i love America just not humans vouchers for shoes or clothing i say because $20,000 will acquire 200,000 pair of shoes or down payment on shelter for sober living men because there is only #4 outlets for men including the street #20 outlets in each city for woman & children forgive me i donate my time to abandon elderly because of defiant children & parents & now praise “god” have personally given 1/2 million to my interest how blessed i av been & selfish

      Just wanted to clear up the administrative fees associated with donating on Causes.com. Causes does not take any money from your donation, but our processor Network For Good, a nonprofit donor-advised fund, has a 4.75% administrative fee that goes to cover their costs. Less than a nickel of every dollar you donate goes to administration, the rest goes to the nonprofit.
