Newark Mayor, Cory Booker, visits Causes
Posted Mar 10, 2011 by Jen Burton
We get some really great, non-traditional perks from working here at Causes. Like helping Operation Smile raise enough money to provide children with life changing surgeries to correct cleft lips and palettes in places like Rwanda and the Philippines. Knowing the work we do every day helps empower ordinary people to make extraordinary change in the world is the most incredible benefit of being employed here (in my humble opinion, of course).
Today we had another very unique perk: A chance to visit with and ask questions of Newark Mayor, Cory Booker.

Mayor Booker is a tireless community organizer working on the ground with the citizens of Newark to bring about change one person at a time; he is also empowering people to make extraordinary change in the world.
“Change, to me, is getting up every day and doing small acts of kindness, of love, of service…’”
Rather than further bore you with words, I’m just going to share a couple clips of our talk with Mayor Booker below and hope you’ll find him as inspiring as we did:
